During last Monday’s Digital Prototyping class, students were instructed to created paper prototypes for mobile apps, test them with a real user, and then render them as digitally in Sketch. The following gif represents the user flow in my paper prototype for a simple shopping app.
During user testing, I discovered that the layout design was generally intuitive, yet some of the transitions were lost in translation with the paper medium. Additionally, my user suggested that I replace the hamburger menu with another icon that would better convey the option to return to the previous screen.
I took this feedback into consideration when I created the digital prototype in Sketch, keeping the general format the same with a few minor adjustments.
After completing the screens in Sketch, they were imported to Principle where I added transitions to complete feel of the desired user experience. The following video illustrates this flow.
